1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using RenailedIt.com (the "Site") you agree to these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.

2. Description of the Service

The Site is a US directory of construction contractors, such as roofers, plumbers, electricians and general contractors. It compiles information from public sources, including state contractor license records (currently Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection open data on data.ct.gov), public Better Business Bureau and Houzz profile pages, public court, lien and licensing-action records, and companies' own websites. We list businesses, not private individuals, and do not publish sole proprietors' home addresses. We are an information service and are not a party to any agreement between you and a contractor.

3. Data Accuracy Disclaimer

Listings, licenses, records and scores may be outdated, incomplete or incorrect, and we do not guarantee their accuracy. Always verify a contractor's license, insurance and history with the issuing agency before hiring. Our "trust score" is calculated from available data and is informational opinion only. It is not a guarantee, endorsement, recommendation or professional advice. Business owners and individuals may request correction or removal of a listing through the contact form.

4. No Consumer Report or FCRA Use

We are not a consumer reporting agency and the Site is not a consumer report. You must not use the Site or its data to make decisions about employment, credit, insurance, tenant screening or any other purpose regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA).

5. User Accounts

You may need an account to post reviews. You must provide accurate information, keep your password confidential, and are responsible for all activity under your account. Notify us if you suspect unauthorized use. You must be at least 13 years old to use the Site.

6. User Content and Reviews

You are solely responsible for the reviews and other content you submit. By submitting content you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, reproduce and distribute it in connection with the Site. You confirm that you have the right to submit it. Content must:

  • be truthful and based on your own genuine experience;
  • not be defamatory, harassing, hateful, obscene or unlawful;
  • not include private personal information of others;
  • not be fake, paid or posted to manipulate a business's rating; and
  • not infringe anyone's intellectual property or privacy.

We may remove or edit any content, at our discretion, without notice.

7. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to:

  • scrape, crawl, harvest or bulk copy the Site or its data, by automated means or otherwise;
  • resell, republish or build a competing database from Site content;
  • use the Site for any FCRA-regulated purpose or for any unlawful purpose;
  • interfere with the Site's security or operation, or attempt unauthorized access;
  • impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation with a business; or
  • use the Site to harass or harm any business or person.
8. Third-Party Links

The Site links to third-party websites, including contractor websites, agencies and public records. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content or practices.

9. Intellectual Property

The Site's design, software, trust-score methodology and compilation of data are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by law. Third-party names, logos and public records remain the property of their owners. You may view the Site for personal, non-commercial use only.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SITE AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SITE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS ARISING FROM YOUR RELIANCE ON SITE CONTENT OR YOUR DEALINGS WITH ANY CONTRACTOR. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SITE WILL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS ($100).

12. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, damages and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your content, your use of the Site, or your violation of these Terms.

13. Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes take effect when posted, with a new effective date. Continued use of the Site means you accept the updated Terms.

14. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access or account at any time, with or without notice, including for violating these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which the operator is located, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
